About
Right after finishing my PhD in marketing at the LeBow College of Business – Drexel University, I joined the Martin Tuchman School of Management – NJIT with an appointment as Assistant Professor of Digital Marketing and Marketing Analytics.
My research interest expands from the role of online information as influencing consumers, to the economic impact derived from the lack of accessibility of e-commerce sites for people with disabilities. An important part of my research deals with the application of methods to analyze unstructured online data (methods such as LSA, machine learning, or topic models). I’m very excited about the endless possibilities of Big Data analysis to learn from customers and clients. The PhD program in Business Data Science – at the Martin Tuchman School of Management – provides the perfect environment to work with doctoral students on this stream of research.
My teaching experience includes Introduction to Marketing Management (undergraduate, Drexel University), Marketing Research (undergraduate, Drexel University; graduate, NJIT), Product Development and Management (undergraduate, NJIT), Marketing Analytics (undergraduate, NJIT), Digital Marketing Strategy (graduate, NJIT), and Introduction to R Programming (open workshop for faculty and students, Drexel University). I have assisted in teaching Seminar in Marketing Strategy (undergraduate, Drexel University) and Marketing Information: Management and Research (graduate, Drexel University).
I also work with companies to develop innovative data analysis methods, especially focused on extracting information from readily available online sources. Together with Dr. David Gefen, Dr. Jake Miller, and Dr. Vadake Narayanan, I regularly conduct workshops on automatic methods of text analysis, especially suited to large textual datasets. Together with Professor Neil Feinstein, I also conduct workshops on Social Media Listening.
In addition to my PhD degree in marketing, I hold an MS in Applied Statistics from UNED, an MRes from Pontifical University of Comillas, an MA in Marketing and Sales Management from EAE Business School, and a BS from University of Alcala.
I recently moved to the gorgeous town of Princeton, NJ, where I live with doctor-to-be Chelsey Hill and our two dogs Henry and Jade (also referred as the two tiny terrors).
An important note of caution: I’m a crazy Real Madrid fan. So, don’t mess with soccer. Especially, if you are one of my students and I have to grade you.
¡Hala Madrid!
